Frequently Asked Questions
Dermal Fillers
How long can I expect dermal fillers to last?
Most filler treatments we administer are expected to last for around 1-3 months. However, a multitude of factors, such as product type, quantity, and individual characteristics can influence the duration. At HD Aesthetics London, we will tailor each service to meet your specific needs, ensuring a stunning transformation.
Do dermal Fillers cause discomfort?
Our dermal fillers contain a trusted local anaesthetic, lidocaine, to minimise any discomfort. This, combined with execution by a skilled professional, will help to alleviate any temporary sensitivity or discomfort some individuals might experience. We also apply a gentle numbing agent before beginning the procedure to further ensure your comfort. Our aim is to ensure your rejuvenation journey is as pleasant as the results themselves.
What are the risks of dermal fillers?
Whilst the complications of injections are incredibly rare, it is important that you are aware of the possible risks and side effects of treatments so that you can properly consent. This is also why it is imperative that you choose a medical professional to administer your treatment so that if any adverse event should occur, your provider is able to assess, diagnose and treat as required. Full information on all formalities will always be discussed at your consultation.

Anti-wrinkle treatment
How does anti-wrinkle treatment work?
Botulinum Toxin (more commonly known as Botox) is a neuromodulator that is injectedusing an ultra-fine needle, into targeted treatment areas. It takes effect by blocking the nerve signals needed for facial muscles to contract. Once injected, this neuromodulator relaxes the muscles and decreases their movement, which in turn reduces appearance of lines or wrinkles in the area. This starts to take effect anywhere from 3-7 days post injection, with final results appearing around 14 days.
What will my anti-wrinkle treatment involve?
Your treatment plan will begin with an in-depth consultation, where we will evaluate your facial symmetry, whilst taking into account your medical history and any previous aesthetic treatments to design a tailored treatment plan to specifically suit you. Your goals and expectations are integrated into the plan to ensure a truly bespoke service.
Following this, we will then undergo the procedure, ensuring the utmost precision and care, which takes approximately 15 minutes. Our meticulous process includes thorough skin disinfection, careful drug preparation, and precise injections using ultra-fine needles. At HD Aesthetics London your comfort and well-being will always be our number one priority.
We will also provide detailed aftercare instructions and recommend a 2-week post-treatment review. At this review, we will evaluate the results and make any necessary adjustments to further enhance your end result. Furthermore, the amount of toxin administered is carefully documented in your private file to ensure consistency in future visits and to maintain those maximum results.
How long will my anti-wrinkle treatment last?
Botox treatment results typically last between 3-4 months from the date of injection. Over time the the Botox is metabolised by the body, resulting in the slow return of muscle movement in the treatment area. However, you can choose to maintain your Botox results for longer periods by undergoing regular maintenance treatments every 3-4 months.
Will my anti-wrinkle treatment cause any discomfort?
At HD Aesthetics London, our aim is to make your rejuvenation journey as comfortable as possible. Whilst anti-wrinkle injections may cause brief, minor discomfort, our skilled experts use ultra-fine needles (the thickness of a hair strand) to significantly minimise any potential pain. Rest assured, any temporary sensitivity subsides once the procedure is complete, and anaesthetic numbing agents are very rarely needed.
Is there an 'ideal age' to start anti-wrinkle treatment?
You may wonder if you're 'too young' or 'too old' to consider Botox. However, the decision to begin your anti-wrinkle treatment journey isn't determined by age, but instead by your skin's unique characteristics. Here at HD Aesthetics London, we assure you there is no predefined age bracket. Each treatment is personally tailored to your skin's specific needs.

During your initial consultation with our expertly trained professionals, we assess your skin's needs rather than your age. Generally, we recommend considering treatment when your skin starts to show persistent fine lines, even when your face is at rest. When these lines begin to bother you, this would be considered the perfect time to discuss treatment. For those with deeply etched lines that remain visible even when stretching the surrounding skin, we might suggest additional treatments alongside Botox.
Remember, our primary commitment is to meet your unique aesthetic goals. There's no one-size fits all in this situation.
General FAQs
How can I be sure which treatments I need?
We understand that many of our patients are uncertain about the right course of action to address their individual concerns. Often, patients schedule procedures that may not be necessary, and in such cases, we thoughtfully recommend alternative treatments or advise against them altogether. HD Aesthetics London prides itself on providing only the most honest and transparent advice, alongside its bespoke treatments.
Your well-being is our priority. If you are uncertain about your end goals, leave the decision to us. We will always invite you to book a consultation, where we will put together a personalised plan to suit your individual requirements.
Can I have any treatments whilst pregnant or breastfeeding?
We are unable to treat anyone who is either pregnant or breastfeeding. There is no significant evidence to support the safety of toxin or dermal filler within pregnancy or lactation. Therefore, it would be unethical to treat in this instance.
Can I expect any bruising or swelling after the procedure?
While precision and technique significantly minimises the chances of bruising or swelling in aesthetic procedures, it is still a slight possibility whenever a needle comes close to the skin. At HD Aesthetics London, we can't guarantee there will be no bruising or swelling, however, incidents are rare, especially with treatments like Botox. We recommend scheduling your appointments with a two-week recovery window prior any major social engagements.
